Mission and Covenant

Mission
We, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin, come together because of our common belief in:

• The principles of freedom of religious belief;
• The inherent worth and dignity of the individual;
• Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
• The democratic process; and,
• The interdependence of all living things.

Covenant
We hereby covenant to create an open and supportive community where we can meet and grow towards wholeness, inspire and challenge one another, share in the observance of special life events, and act according to our principles in the local and world communities.
