A Letter from our Director of Religious Exploration 9/12/26

A Letter from our Director of Religious Exploration 9/12/26

Greetings UU Friends!

I am hoping to see everyone this Sunday for our In-Gathering: Water and Stone Communion.

As we prepare for the RE year, I’d like to introduce those who are supporting our efforts through their work as RE Facilitators:

  • Dan and Kathy Hislip will facilitate Adult RE.
  • Elizabeth Bailey and Amanda DeConcilis will facilitate Littles RE.
  • Paul Higginbotham and Todd Underwood will facilitate Youth RE.

This group of wonderful Religious Exploration Facilitators provides safe, inclusive, engaging learning experiences for our UUCE family across the lifespan.

Please see below about being part of this amazing group as a Facilitator or Substitute.

Here are just a few reminders and updates for RE:

Registration for the 2026-2027 RE Year is here!

We’d like to get those children and youth interested in attending RE registered as soon as possible. In case you missed the online registration link in last week’s Unichord, here it is again:

https://forms.gle/jAE7yPTVCpWfJLL97

It would be very helpful if parents/guardians would register their child(ren) online. There will be paper registration packets available at Church, but again, please consider registering online as this helps us organize registrations and save paper and ink by not having to print paper copies. Thanks in advance!

Help Wanted for the 2026-2027 RE Year

If you’d like to make a difference and volunteer to support Religious Exploration at UUCE, please drop me a line and let me know how you’d like to help.

You can email me at: michele.ramsey@uuce.org. I look forward to hearing from you!

***We are in need of substitute RE facilitators for our Littles and Youth classrooms. Please consider this important role and let me know if you can help.

In case you missed it last week, we’ve had some changes and updates in Religious Exploration:

  • Littles’ RE room move: Meeting on the second floor across from the Children’s Library for closer restroom access and a cooler, more comfortable environment.
  • The Nest relocation: Now positioned at the back of the Sanctuary to allow easy entry and exit for children needing quick breaks.
  • New Littles’ curriculum: Piloting the UUA’s “Living Our UU Values” (part of the Woven Faith series), kicking off with Interdependence.
  • Youth RE plans: Continuing the Deeper Joy role-playing game alongside dedicated time to explore world religions.
  • Adult RE: We will again offer a lineup of adult RE programming following last year’s strong engagement.

Important Dates:

  • September 20- RE Sundays, Children will stay with their families on 9/20. There will be time during the service for families and everyone to visit the RE classes and meet the RE Facilitators.
  • September 6, 13 & 27- No RE, Families are encouraged to enjoy worship together on these Sundays. Childcare is available for children through age 9.
  • As a reminder, September 13 is an Intergenerational Service- In-Gathering: Water and Stone Communion.
