1st Elgin Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, June 3

UUCE is proud to participate in the 1st Elgin Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, June 3; a family-friendly event with a parade, food, vendors, live music, performances, activities, and more!

You can find the City’s Facebook event here: Elgin’s First Pride Parade & Festival

A general public map and schedule is available to view on the website at www.elginpride.com.

They also sent us a flyer which can be printed to also spread the word. A copy can be sent to you if requested.

If you’re able to participate with UUCE, please RSVP here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0544a8ae2ba1f49-pride

Parade Info:

Lineup will begin at 9:30am. Use Prairie Street to get to the parking lot at the corner of Prairie and Grove for lineup. There will be staff in the area to assist and direct you. Kickoff is at 11am. We will head up Riverside Drive, make a right on Chicago, right on Grove, basically making a circle and ending where we began. Wear your UUCE Pride shirt or wear of our rainbow bandanas that we’ll bring. We’ll have a brand-new banner to carry, plus colorful, recycled Mardi Gras beads to pass out along the route (handed out directly, not thrown).

Table info:

Thank you to everyone who signed up to help set up, staff and take down our table! In addition to visiting with festival attendees about our wonderful UUCE community, we’ll be inviting people to participate in a Seven Day Gratitude Journal Challenge and passing out rainbow Skittles candy and UU literature.

Shirts:

If you ordered a shirt, we’ll be in touch to get yours to you ahead of 6/3.

More details to come, or feel free to reach out to Jen or myself and we’ll do our best to answer.
