Citizens’ Climate Education
As the new church year begins July 1st, it has been decided by the Executive Team, Finance Committee and the Worship Team to change things up a bit with our Share the Plate program. We will now have quarterly recipients, our 1st quarter is July, August and September. We hope that having quarterly recipients will allow us to created a deeper relationship with the recipient, while lessening some of the Worship and Finance Committee’s work. Save The Date! – UUCE Auction on November 4, 2023
Finally, after a long break due to the pandemic, we are bringing back our most loved and profitable fundraiser – the UUCE Service Auction. On Saturday November 4 we will convene early evening to share some snacks, beverages, and a whole lot of friendly but competitive bidding on your favorite activities and events. More details will be forthcoming as the date draws closer but mark your calendars now since you don’t want to miss this event!
4th Sunday Styrofoam Collection June 25th
Please separate your CLEAN food grade Styrofoam from your packaging Styrofoam and bag as needed. Styrofoam peanuts are NOT accepted. Place your Styrofoam in the Prius with the open hatch in the church parking lot. Joe Masonick will be doing the collecting. We’ll drive it to Dart Container Corporation in North Aurora (open 24/7). Please try to avoid using Styrofoam because its use is not sustainable. Many people manage to avoid it; indeed, entire countries do without it. Thank you! Mary Alice Masonick

Last Saturday, six intrepid souls from the EE group met at Ali Baba Kabab in Schaumburg to partake of a little bit of Azerbaijan cuisine. I will only say that not every month will be a home run, but it was interesting. Friday, July 14th – Kane County Cougars Game – Fun, Fellowship and Baseball
A few nights per season, the Kane County Cougars host All Faith’s Night , where churches can get tickets at a reduced price. UUCE will be participating in this on Friday, July 14th. The game starts at 6:30 pm, and there are post-game fireworks and base running. It will be at Northwestern Memorial Field, in Geneva IL. The tickets are $8 ea, and are in the reserved section.
