Ethnic Eating September Restaurant Choice

Nine intrepid foodies from UUCE feasted on the cuisine of Bahrain on Sunday night, August 27th at Al Bawadi restaurant in Niles. It was a delicious experience and I believe everyone left stuffed and carrying a doggie bag. It was just an excellent experience in a marvelous atmosphere. Please give this restaurant your consideration if you weren’t able to join.  That said, we need to turn our attention to the cuisine of Bangladesh. We will be visiting Sabri Bihari Restaurant at…

From Our New Religious Education Coordinator Susan Goldberg

Hi, I am delighted to be writing you as the Coordinator for Religious Education at UUCE. As it happens, I was an RE teacher here for a while way back in the 1990s, but since then my time with kids has been mostly about either tutoring or being a grandma. In any case, I still have both feet in the water, and it seems I’m about to wade in even deeper! I want to thank you for trusting me and…

No Styrofoam peanuts are accepted.  Place your bags of separated Styrofoam in the Prius parked near the church entrance with a sign.  Thanks for recycling Styrofoam.  Even better would be to avoid using Styrofoam. Ethnic Eating Update

Kathy and I are now back and, in the spirit of Ethnic Eating, if Georgia was a country – well, I guess it is a country but I’m talking about the state- we sampled every kind of cuisine we could. So, I am, and I hope you are, ready to visit the Middle East and see about the countries or Bahrain and Bangladesh. I am announcing them since they occur fairly close together in the calendar. I hope you can…

Fair Trade Product Update

Here is an update on Fair Trade products at UUCE, including some price increases.   All our products are organic and fairly traded. They come from small farms around the world. The coffees are all shade-grown which maintains habitat for birds and other forest creatures.  They are inexpensive because we buy them wholesale and don’t pay tax or shipping. We charge barely enough to cover the costs and pass on the savings to you.  We now must charge a little more…
