2024 ReUUse Table Refresh

2024 ReUUse Table Refresh

Thank you to everyone who contributed to or benefited from our ReUUse Table in Fellowship Hall since we rolled it out three months ago. Our very own free pop up thrift store encourages us to reduce our carbon footprint and save money, by reusing household items rather than buying new when possible.

As promised, everything that remained at the end of last quarter was donated and we’re starting fresh. Winter clothing items went to Elgin’s Community Crisis Center and Centro De Información, and everything else went to Savers to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation.

Items on the table are free for the taking, however you’re invited to leave an optional donation in the box if you feel so inclined. ALL are invited to contribute any of the accepted items listed below.

  • Clothing and domestics (linens, curtains, blankets) — must be freshly laundered. Avoid scented detergent if possible.
  • Shoes/boots, jewelry, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, purses, totes.
  • Games, records, CDs, DVDs and sports equipment. Electronic toys are permitted as long as they are in clean working condition.
  • Housewares (dishes, glassware, kitchen utensils, small appliances under 20 lbs.) and Collectibles (small antiques, knickknacks), gift wrap, stationery.
  • Hand tools and small power tools.
