Our second quarter (October, November, December) Share the Plate recipient is Planned Parenthood of Illinois.
According to the Board of Trustee’s survey results that asked our community what their social justice concerns were, the results showed Reproductive Rights was our communities 2nd largest concern. After much consideration the Executive Team chose Planned Parenthood of Illinois as our Share the Plate recipient.
For over 100 years, building healthy communities has been Planned Parenthood’s mission. Every day, Planned Parenthood of Illinois helps all kinds of people get the health tools and information—and above all the care and compassion they need—to prevent unintended pregnancies or to plan for families when they are ready.
Providing Trusted Health Care Services
Planned Parenthood of Illinois is Illinois’ most trusted provider of reproductive health care. Our skilled health care professionals are dedicated to offering all people high-quality, affordable medical care. One in five American women has chosen Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life.
Caring physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff take time to talk with patients, encouraging them to ask questions and discuss their feelings in a confidential setting. These health centers provide a wide range of safe, reliable health care — and the majority is preventive care, which helps prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment, and screen for cervical and other cancers.
