Each month, a new Share the Plate recipient is chosen, usually from the local community or wider UU community. The Share the Plate recipient for September is: Unitarian Universalist Advocacy Network of Illinois UUANI provides Unitarian Universalists across Illinois with advocacy and legislative leadership to effectively build community and power to promote justice and a healthy planet. We bring social justice into the heart of the spiritual life of congregations and develop ways for church communities to live the UU principles. We help bridge communities and congregations and align spirituality with tangible actions to affect change.

Vapnar Community Crisis Center was founded in 1975 to meet the needs of individuals and families in crisis. Public Action to Deliver Shelter
This month’s Share the Plate recipient is Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) PADS works to meet the basic needs of homeless individuals first. They provide a safe place to sleep, eat meals, take showers, and do their laundry. The next step is to provide comprehensive case management. Case managers meet with each guest and together, an action plan is created by identifying the barriers which led to the person becoming homeless. Action plans are tailored to each individual and…
