Church Picnic and Flower Communion

Church Picnic and Flower Communion

Hi there everyone,

We’re just a few days from our church picnic taking place after the Flower Communion service on Sunday, June 11th – which means we need to place our catering order soon…which means we need you to RSVP (if you haven’t already).  We’re going to be ordering from Emily’s Mexican Grill (on McLean in Elgin) – so tacos (steak, Al Pastor, and veggie) and rice and beans and chips and salsa!  But, no RSVP = no food!  (I’m half joking – we’ll just make you wait until the end of the line…)

If you haven’t RSVP’d, you can do so by clicking here!

And just in case you missed Todd’s original email (on May 18th, 2023 at 4:02pm), I’ll paste it for you below:

Please plan to join us for a one-of-a-kind picnic celebration. We will be zipping over to Burnidge Woods Forest Preserve (2.2 miles from church) directly after the flower communion service on Sunday, June 11. We have reserved the main pavilion from noon until sunset and it has an accessible cement path up to the pavilion.

Activities will include:

  • Catered lunch
  • Family games
  • Trail hikes

  • Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and maybe a dessert
  • Bring your own comfy chair
  • Bring any games you want to play (e.g. bags or horseshoes)
  • Bring a friend (or two or three)
  • Dress for the weather/event
