Elgin CROP Walk

This month’s Share the Plate recipient is:

Elgin CROP Walk

Hunger is one of the greatest injustices facing our world, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Ending hunger is possible, and it is possible in our lifetime. You can help make it happen! For nearly half a century, CROP Hunger Walks have ensured that more people worldwide have access to nutritious sustainable food sources.

Stand with neighbors in our community who rely on food assistance programs. Partner with parents worldwide as they ensure a bright future for those struggling. Support those struggling in the face of grinding poverty and open up new doors of opportunity for them!

In addition to supporting Elgin CROP Walk through Share the Plate donations, you can also sponsor our team of UUCE Walkers, or sign up to join our dedicated Team on their walk! Registration information is available on the CROP Walk website. To register as a walker, visit the website and click “Register”. This will lead you through the steps to become a walker. Please join the team Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin so we know who from the church is participating.

You can also use this link to sponsor our team, or individual walkers, just search for the team name “Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin.” The virtual walk will be happening on October 18th, but Elgin CROP Walk will be our Share the Plate recipient for the whole month of October, so there are many opportunities to support the cause.

If you have any questions, contact Tom Durkin, whose contact information can be found in the UUCE Directory.
