The country remains Austria. The date and time remain the same. The food remains German. The location, however, is completely different. For reasons that I will explain over some authentic German beer, Heidi’s was unable to accommodate our group so we will be meeting at 4:30 pm on Sunday, May 21st at SCHNELL’S BRAUHAUS at 45 SLADE STREET, PALATINE, IL. Consider this a test of your flexibility in exigent circumstances. If this substitution changes your desire to attend, please let me know. I have reservations for us and hope to see everyone Sunday. Thanks for your patience.
Now it’s time to turn our attention to Azerbaijan, next month’s country and the last of the “A” countries. I did find the Azerbaijan Cafe which I thought was going to be perfect but unfortunately, it’s located in New Jersey. Since a lot of you don’t even like to drive to Chicago based restaurants, I decided to go another way. Since I could not find an Azerbaijan restaurant, I looked for a selection that offered the foods the country featured – kebab and rice dishes- and I did find that. So, let me know if you’re interested in joining us at Karachi Kebab, 2543 W Algonquin Road, Algonquin, IL on Saturday, June 10th at 5:00 pm. Remember, you can let me know by text at 847-243-3820 or by email at dwhislip@gmail.com. Hope to see you there.
Peace,
Dan
