This Sunday, I will have Common Milkweed plugs for those who promise to plant it. They are very easy to grow. See me after the service as I don’t want to interfere with the Flower Communion.
You probably know that Monarchs need Milkweed for their caterpillars to eat. Without Milkweed, there can be no Monarchs.
Plant it in a sunny place and water it as needed this summer. It is a perennial and will grow back year after year. You may have the luck to see a Monarch egg or caterpillar or chrysalis on your milkweed!
Common Milkweed is Asclepias syriaca. Check it out at https://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/weeds/plants/cm_milkweed.htm
