Ethnic Eating Update

People apparently enjoy island time. Twenty-six folks enjoyed the food and fellowship Saturday night at Mariscos El Charco. If you didn’t get to go with the group, I would highly recommend this local Elgin jewel. It was delicious and the portions plentiful. I’m still eating part of mine.

Now let’s turn our attention to February. On the 19th of next month, we will be dining at 5:00pm at Tango Sur at 3763 N. Southport Avenue in Chicago. For those of you unfamiliar with Chicago, this address is in the Wrigleyville area. It is an Argentine restaurant highly recommended by one of our members and the menu looks fantastic. While the cuisine of Argentina has a heavy emphasis on steak, I believe everyone will enjoy this dining experience. It is not too early to express your interest by text (847-243-3820) or email (dwhislip@gmail.com) to get in on the fun. You can sign up through the Sunday before but if it’s going to be another large group, it’s good to alert them to reserve enough tables. Please join us if you can.

A further heads up – in March, we will be trying food from Armenia. If you have a recommendation for that country or Australia, Austria or Azerbaijan (the next three), let me know or you’ll just be stuck with what I find. (And to answer a question that I’ve been asked several times, I do not try these venues in advance. It’s a much a surprise to me as to any other participant.)

Peace,
Dan
