“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” (F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby)

It’s only the very beginning of September so there are still some warm days left, but the crisp chilly air is not too far off. This is one of my favorite times of year. Along with the changing weather, it’s also time for a new church year. While we have been open for in-person gathering for quite some time, the upcoming Water Communion service and Homecoming celebration (with a catered lunch!) on September 11 will be a wonderful time to have our UUCE life start all over again, in a way. As the new President of the Board of Trustees, I feel a spark of renewal and the excitement of unlimited potential. For my term I want to focus on increasing communication, supporting growth strategies, and ensuring that our leadership structure makes sense with the size that we are now, but also with an eye for future growth.

I also want to take a moment to thank the other members of the Board, along with all of the other committees and teams that are working diligently to make UUCE the wonderful congregation that it is. This letter would be way too long if I named everyone individually, but I see the work that people are doing, and it is very much appreciated. Thank you so much. You are all amazing and brilliant people, thank you for sharing your time, talent, and treasure to help keep UUCE a welcoming, well-run spiritual home for all of us.

With that, let’s all keep showing up for ourselves and for each other – here’s to a fantastic 2022-23 church year!
