Mila returned to UUCE as Interim Administrator in August of 2020 after taking a six-year leave. She had previously served the church as the Administrator for eight years, at which time she was a proud member of the Association of Unitarian Universalist Administrators (AUUA) and served three years on the AUUA board.
As Interim, Mila’s areas of responsibility are administrative support for the Minister and staff, Committee and Team support, church office management, communications, property management, and building usage.
As a member of the church for over 20 years, Mila has served on many Committees and Teams. These include the Board of Trustees, Religious Education Council, Membership Team, Aesthetics Team, Auction Committee, and she is a trained OWL facilitator. She is a graduate of the Unitarian Universalist Midwest Leadership School.
Mila earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Art and Education from Bradley University. When not at church, she enjoys cooking, gardening, art, spending time with her family and friends, caring for her rescue cat, and attending social justice marches.
As Interim, Mila will use her organizational skills to help prepare the Administrator position for a permanent hire. She looks forward to serving the Elgin UU community once again, and is thankful for this opportunity
