Father’s Day

Introduction

Fathering is a big deal for the father, but is usually a much bigger deal for the child. As we said in the 60s, “parents are a heavy trip,” meaning deeply and durably influencing. We all know many people who were loved and helped enormously by their fathers. Let us praise them, and everyone who practices the virtues of fatherhood. If your father was your grandfather, your uncle, big brother, priest, rabbi, neighbor, teacher, coach, or therapist, we want to honor them. We will also speak a little about bad or absent fathers, because as always, some of us are less lucky than others.
