Over the last few weeks, I’ve been asked a few times how the Worship Team is doing with the recent changes in leadership. For the first time in the history of our congregation, we are a lay-led church and the responsibility for Sunday services now lies squarely on the volunteers on the team. The good news is that we have an excellent team with a wide variety of thoughts, ideas, spiritualities, and heart-felt issues and causes. We last met on November 3rd and planned out service responsibilities (and some topics) through the end of January – so there’s no worries about Sunday coverage so far.
Now all of that isn’t to say that we aren’t open to help and input from all of you. We hope you’ll all continue showing up on Sunday mornings and that you’ll let us know what we’re doing well and what we could do better. The team has a lot of ideas for service topics – plus we subscribe to Touchstones (a provider of theme-based services) – but I’m sure there are a lot of great ideas within our own congregation as well. If there is anything you’d like us to explore – or if you would like to write a sermon of your own – please reach out to us. We are happy to help with the editing/proof-reading and finding complementary service elements – and if you aren’t comfortable in the limelight, we can present it for you as well!
Thank you to everyone that is helping with our services: Marj Askins, Rowan Fixemer, Susan Goldberg, Diana Heizer, Paul Higginbotham, Chelsea Musson, Elizabeth Olson, Sarah Stultz, and David Yaeger. If you’d like to reach out to us, you can do so at WT@uuce.org!
