Weather Advisory – 11/30/25
Due to the forecasted inclement weather, our 11/30 Sunday Service may be canceled or held virtually. While we would love to gather together as usual, the safety of our staff, volunteers and congregation is always our main priority. Before heading out on Sunday morning, please check your email for any updates. Thank you!
What Does It Mean to be a UU Welcoming Congregation?
Seven of our UUCE members gathered online in early November to continue charting our path to UU Welcoming Congregation certification. This accreditation formally affirms our congregation’s commitment to radical inclusion—by ensuring our church is a space where LGBTQIA+ people are comfortable being full members and participants of our faith community. As UUs, we honor the full diversity of individuals as a spiritual gift. Our Welcoming Congregation Team seeks to ensure diversity of gender and sexuality is honored as well. This…
This Week in Religious Education
Dear Friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and the joy of being together with family and friends! This week, I spent some time reflecting on the lessons shared in our Bread Communion service. I was particularly struck by the words Stephen shared, “Our Bread Communion in particular is about reflecting on our purposeful choice to participate in this community. It’s about being mindful of what a community is, what a community needs, and…
Circle Supper is Back for 2026!
UUCE adult members and friends meet once a month in groups of six to eight for an evening of good food and lively conversation. It’s a great way to get to know new members or people you may not be in contact with. The dinners are help in people’s homes or in Fellowship Hall during January, February, March, April and May. If you’re interested, write your name and email address on the clipboard downstairs on the welcome table, and we’ll…
This Week in Religious Education
Dear Friends, As we enter this week of gratitude and Thanksgiving, I want to thank each of you for your support of our Littles and Youth and our RE program. Our Littles and Youth will be part of this meaningful UUCE tradition. Childcare is available for children through age 9. We Need Your Help Our Kindergarten through 5th-grade Littles…
Childcare & Religious Education Registration Due
Thank you to everyone who has turned in their 2025-26 childcare and RE registration packet so far! We are still missing packets for quite a few of our little’s and youth attendees so this is your reminder that ALL children who will be attending childcare or RE this year must complete a packet or they will be asked to join their parent or guardian in the sanctuary during the service – no exceptions. Yes – even if you did one…
ReUUse Table Refresher
Did you know our Fellowship Hall features a ReUUse Table for quality household items to be passed to new families? The ReUUse Table is our very own free pop up thrift store which encourages us to reduce our carbon footprint by reusing household items (rather than buying new when possible). Any items remaining at the end of each quarter will be donated to an appropriate, local charity. I’d like to extend my personal thanks to whoever donated the brand new…

An Update from the UUCE Endowment Fund
As we look ahead to Giving Tuesday on December 2nd, the Endowment Committee wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about our UUCE Endowment Fund. Back in 1998, our congregation created this fund as a long-term, legacy investment – something that would help secure the future of our church for generations to come. The hope was that, over time, it would grow into both a financial safety net and a source of support for UUCE. And it has grown!…
Transgender Day of Remembrance
We Keep Each Other Alive: Lessons from Grief and Love By Kimi Floyd Reisch The first person I loved who died was someone no one remembers. Nettie was my adopted godmother, a neighbor who claimed me as her spirit child when I was still in diapers. Nettie taught me how to see dandelions as food, how to see ants as helpers, and how to speak gently to the land to help the plants grow. When she died, I was twelve. If…
This Week in UUCE-RE
Dear Friends, A warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the RE survey! Your voices are vital to our community, and I’m truly grateful for your input. The Religious Education Advisory Team and I are excited to dive into the results and develop a plan to share with the congregation. This Sunday is Music Sunday, and we’re looking forward to a joyful celebration of the musical talents within our UUCE community! The Youth and…
An Update from Our Director of Religious Education
During November, my thoughts turn to Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for — not the least of which is my new role as Director of Religious Education at UUCE. Our RE program is off to a wonderful start, and I’m deeply thankful for the volunteer teachers and subs who make this program possible, as well as for all those who support our children and youth in so many ways. A lot is happening in the world around…
