UU Zoom Retreat Event

We are excited to announce a Virtual Retreat Event:   Difficult Conversations, the Art and Science of Working Together  Join author Kern Beare for a three-part, interactive Zoom event. Fourth Sunday Styrofoam Collection

January 23 from 12:00 to 12:30 pm Please separate your CLEAN food grade Styrofoam from your packaging Styrofoam and bag as needed.  Styrofoam peanuts are NOT accepted (take to UPS store).  Place your Styrofoam in the Prius in the church parking lot. We’ll drive it to Dart Container Corporation in North Aurora (open 24/7).  Please try to avoid using Styrofoam because its use is not sustainable. Many people manage to avoid it; indeed, entire countries do without it. Thank you! Mary Alice Masonick

Human Rights Day, December 10

Dear Friend, Today is Human Rights Day. Seventy-three years ago today, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  In adopting that Declaration, they shared a common aspiration for “all members of the human family” to have these rights recognized, and that one day, Member States would affirm these rights in their national laws. Interfaith Food Pantry

Our Share the Plate recipient for the rest of December is All Peoples Interfaith Food Pantry Several UUCE members have or still do volunteer at this food pantry, and we’ve supported the pantry with food donations for years. They serve residents of Elgin and are located at 256 E. Chicago St. Elgin, IL 60120. Open 9:30 to 11:30 Mon – Fri. Thank You!

Closing Announcement

COVID Cases in Kane County have been rising since the beginning of the month and have surpassed the levels the Reopening Team determined would be safe to meet for Sunday Services. Our service this Sunday will be online only, and more information about building use policy will follow next week.
